Ardell J. Macon, age 83, of West Columbia, Texas passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, after a long struggle against cancer. Ardell was born February 27, 1938, to Dolphin Ruff and Labera Ardell Jordan in Union, Mississippi.
She attended Beulah Hubbard High School, then married J.T. Macon and moved to Texas where they lived and raised their only child, Cynthia Macon Hudson. Ardell was a devoted Grandmother to Shannon and Tyler Hudson.
She was co-owner of a home building business as well as a thriving door company. She also assisted in building and designing her beautiful home at Mallard Lake. She retired early and was able to travel the United States and see much of the world, over the course of her life and retirement.
Ardell found joy in travel, the mountains, hunting, quilting, the holidays, and her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Roger Parks Jordan, and sister Dorothy Ruth Jordan.
Ardell is survived by her husband, J.T. Macon; daughter, Cynthia Macon Hudson; grandchildren, Shannon Hudson, and Tyler Hudson; sisters Velma Dean and Nancy Jones and husband Harlan; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at C. T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home.
Ardell's funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 18, 2021, in the chapel of C.T. Baker & Sons Funeral Home, 634 South Columbia Dr., West Columbia, Texas with Pastor John Price officiating. Interment will follow in Old Columbia Cemetery.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the charity of your choice. Some of Ardell's favorite charities were Boystown of America and the National Parks Service.
