Douglas Eugene Kanz

January 14, 1939 ~ June 22, 2021 (age 82)


Douglas “Doug” Eugene Kanz, 82, went home to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday,

June 22nd, 2021 from his home in Columbia Lakes, Texas.

Doug was born to William C. Kanz and Elnora Gentille in Mansfield, Ohio on January 14th, 1939.

He moved his family from Ohio to Texas in the summer of 1982.

Doug enjoyed freshwater fishing, especially for walleye and in the company of family. He also had a passion for family history and genealogy, tracing family roots throughout the centuries and across the world.

Doug served in the Navy from 1958 – 1962 as a Machinist Accountant, where he learned his trade. He put those skills to work throughout his career, providing for his family, as a Mainframe/Data Base Programmer.

Doug is survived by his wife of 60 years, Frances Marie Kanz; son and wife, Marcus and Stefani Kanz; son and wife, Jason and Melissa Kanz; grandchildren, Jaime and Seth Wood, Luke and Kelly Kanz, Nathan and Claire Kanz, Grace Kanz, Daniel Kanz, and Belle Kanz; great-grandchildren, Vivi Wood, Gwen Wood, Justin Wood, Jacob Wood, Judah Kanz, and Felicity Kanz; sister and husband, Nikki and Mark Williams; sister and husband, Mary Lou and Greg Navratil; brother, Paul Kanz.

Preceding him in death are his parents Bill & Lois Kanz and Ellie & Jim Gentille.

Memorial services will be held at Wild Peach Baptist Church, 4895 CR 353, Brazoria, TX 77422, on Saturday, July 3rd, 2021 at 10:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, the Family requests that memorial contributions be made to either
